E mark – (e1/E1)

E mark – (e1/E1)

Phoenix Testlab is recognized by the Federal Motor Transport Authority as a technical service for testing according to Directive 2009/19/EC (component testing) and ECE Regulation No. 10, Rev. 4 (component testing).

For components that are used in a vehicle, a design approval or type approval is usually required. In addition to the ECE test mark (E1) from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, there is also the test mark for vehicles and vehicle parts according to European directives. Finally, (e1) is awarded by the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Germany.

Within the framework of e1/E1 marking, Phoenix Testlab offers the following services:

  • Support which regulations apply for your design/type approval
  • Planning and implementation of the required tests (drawing up the test plan, monitoring, implementation of tests, test report, etc.)
  • Inspection of documents
  • Communication with the relevant approval body
  • Change management
  • Conformity of Production (CoP) test
  • Training courses, seminars

Relevant standards:

Our laboratories are recognized by the Kraftfahrtbundesamt (KBA, Federal Motor Transport Authority) as a technical service within the framework of e/E marking for the following EC/ECE directives according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:

  • EC Directive 2009/19/EC, EMC of vehicle components
  • EC Directive 2006/120/EC, EMC for components of 2 and 3-wheel motor vehicles
  • EC Directive 2006/96/EC (annex V), electronic immobilizer
  • EC Directive 2009/64/EC, EMC for components of agricultural or forestry tractors
  • ECE Directive No. 10, Revision 5, EMC of vehicle components
  • ECE Directive No. 97, Revision 1 (Part III), electronic immobilizer
  • ECE Directive No. 116 (Part IV), electronic immobilizer

We support our customers during KBA approval within the framework of the type approval procedure for E/e marking.
